Spring U13 (Peewee): Foundation & Fundamentals
Targeting: Falls, growth spurts, and accidental contact (Wrist fractures, Lacerations, and Osgood-Schlatter).
Virtual Introduction: After signing up, players will receive instruction through email, on booking in for a mandatory introduction call with the coaches and physios. This is ran through Country Hills Physiotherapy Via. Jane
Session #1: Awareness – Learning to navigate "traffic" on the ice to avoid accidental collisions and high sticks
Session #2: Hockey Safety – On-ice training on how to fall properly without using outstretched hands (preventing wrist fractures) and how to use the boards for protection.
Session #3: The Growth Spurt Stretch – Addressing Osgood-Schlatter (knee pain) through specific quad and hamstring flexibility routines.
Session #4: Athletic Basics – Teaching fundamental movement patterns (squats, lunges, and balance) to build a stable base for future checking years.
