Spring Injury Awareness
Are you a high-performance hockey player ready to maximize your potential? Do you truly understand your current mobility status?
This is the program you need. We integrate an elite hockey camp experience with highly targeted drills and functional movement testing
The best part? The physiotherapy component of the program is eligible for coverage through your existing benefits.
Baseline Tracking: After signing up, players will have a functional movement test administered to screen for any potential risks, as well as have a measurable baseline for any future injury. We use a AR based software - like in clinic(see images above) to track functional movement as well as stride and shot mechanics.
Session #1: Awareness & Intro to Contact Safety– Learning to navigate "traffic" on the ice to avoid accidental collisions and high sticks
Session #2: Hockey Safety – On-ice training on how to fall properly without using outstretched hands (preventing wrist fractures) and how to use the boards for protection. + Teaching players how to identify concussion symptoms in themselves and teammates, plus immediate care for shoulder sprains (R.I.C.E. method).
Session #3: The Art of the Hit – On-ice session dedicated to the mechanics of delivering and receiving checks: "Shoulder-to-shoulder" contact and protecting the AC joint.
Session #4: Athletic Basics – Teaching fundamental movement patterns (squats, lunges, and balance) to build a stable base for future checking years. Introduction to functional strength training, focusing on neck strengthening (concussion mitigation) and shoulder stability.
